Originally part of Albert Park, Hendon was established in 1921 on land once owned by aviator Harry Butler. It was home to South Australia’s first Adelaide Airport before becoming a munitions factory during World War II.
Hendon is a quiet residential suburb bordered by Old Port Road to the north and West Lakes Boulevard to the south. It has a total population of 1,271 as of 2021.
